Oh yay! Rain!
nws.noaa.gov
Moisture associated with Priscilla will lead to a significant heavy rainfall and a flash flood risk across portions of Arizona, southern Utah, southwest Colorado, and far northwest New Mexico through Saturday.

Key Messages for Tropical Storm Priscilla.
1. Moisture from Priscilla will cause significant heavy rainfall and flash flooding across parts of Arizona, southern Utah, southwest Colorado, and far northwest New Mexico through Saturday.
2. Large swells from Priscilla are impacting the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur and parts of the southwestern and west-central Mexico coast. These swells may cause dangerous surf, rip currents, and some coastal flooding.

The graphic also includes:
- A map showing the projected path of Tropical Storm Priscilla moving northeast from the Pacific Ocean toward the Baja California Peninsula and western Mexico.
- A rainfall and flash flood risk map highlighting the highest threat areas in red (moderate risk) over Arizona and surrounding states.

Day 8 of #FantasyIndiesSpooktober

I got nothin' for this. I don't read spooky, so I can't recommend spooky. Sorry.

Oh wait. I do have one: The Staircase in the Woods by @chuckwendig.bsky.social was pretty damn good.

Day 7 of #FantasyIndiesSpooktober

In Book 7 of my Oracle of Delphi series WIP, the "villain" is Rome. And Rome's goals in the 1st century BCE are to completely dominate the world, including Greece.

I think part of the problem was we told voters last year what was going to happen with Trump 2.0 and they said it was hyperbole and lies. Now that it's happening, they're like, "I didn't vote for this," because they can't admit they ignored the warnings and look like fools.

Shame on you.

Day 6 of #FantasyIndiesSpooktober

There are a few "monsters" in my Oracle of Delphi series WIP, such as Python and the Sphinx. But most of the real monsters are humans.

I'm slowly recovering from the Getty Villa trip. My rosacea flare has finally calmed down, but my fibro and neuropathy are still raging. The fatigue is off the charts. Not getting as much done on my WIP as a result, but I'm still plugging along.

Day 4 of #FantasyIndiesSpooktober

Another unedited snippet from Book 7 of my Oracle of Delphi series WIP.

Here, Rhea, the newest Pythia, shares a special evening meal with High Priest Dardanos and Senior Priest Abas.

#WritingCommunity
Ision called for the slaves, and two immediately arrived with pitchers containing local spring water and wine from Lesbos, a krater to mix the two, and cups to serve it.

Two more slaves brought trays of food: freshly baked bread, cut into wedges and topped with a mix of crushed olives, garlic, and cheese; thrion or fig leaves stuffed with spelt, herbs, and capers; roast ring-necked dove in liquamen or fish sauce; eels from Lake Kopais; and baked tuna with onions and garlic.

Rhea had never eaten such rich food, nor drank such fine wine. And so, she had to ask. "Do you eat like this every evening?"

Dardanos and Abas laughed.

"No," Dardanos replied. "Most often, the priests have plain bread, olives, and cheese, with perhaps figs. And the ratio of water to wine is higher, and a local wine at that."

What a fantastic thread! 💙
lydiamassiah.bsky.social
This could be a long and rambling thread. Be patient with me.

I bought an old mahogany bureau on Ebay. I didn't really want a bureau as we're meant to be downsizing, but it was a beautiful piece & obviously very old. Google lens suggests the brass chased handles are Queen Anne. That's 1702-1714 😯

Thank you Ayrton! Oh yeah, it's partly why it could be paralyzing for me if I stop to think about it too much. But I'm stubborn, so I'm just gonna keep on truckin' LOL

Day 2 of #FantasyIndiesSpooktober

When I was young, I liked scary movies and books. Over time I lost interest in them. And for the Pythia in my Oracle of Delphi series WIP, life in ancient Greece is scary enough.
