Also, why weren't people forewarned
Whole thing a mess, and inconvenient / too expensive for lots of people. However, we were glad had maintained both passports when relative was suddenly seriously ill. Enabled us to travel same day and have prolonged stay in UK. Worth considering depending on ties to UK.
