I wonder how a WW2 soldier would react if you want back in time and said, “Hey, in about 70 or so years the richest man on earth will be n*** saluting up in the capitol to a round of thunderous applause.” The Trump administration has been in power one day and already spat in the face of every vet.

How to write: Stop not writing. Keep your butt in the chair. Write really bad small sections of the whole—passages, moments, episodes, memories—til you have an incredibly shitty 1st draft. Then take out the boring parts, the lies and pretensions. Then write a better 2nd draft.

If you played an instrument back in high school and stopped: we are in a golden age of decent cheap instruments.
The guitars are better, the amps are better. The pedals are cheaper, the wind instruments are actually instruments and not just shaped like them, etc.
Jump back into it.
