Yes commutable is very different depending on where you live. Students can commute from a considerable distance away to Manchester via public transport but that's more of an issue if you live in Cumbria where the local uni isn't far away but transport is bad

I don't think there is a strict definition... not surprised you have frozen spots in Ireland. Tbh we have them in the UK too but have been used to a varied and geographically spread HE landscape and now that's been disrupted by closures of depts this has all come to light

I remember the days of modular exams well.. endless resits, content forgotten once the exam was done even though understanding was needed for other topics, interruption of teaching for revision for modules and mocks

🧠 Modular exams could support student wellbeing – but must be carefully balanced with curriculum depth and manageability. Regulators should explore this on a nation-by-nation basis. #StudentWellbeing #EducationPolicy #ChemSky #EduSky

Rayner is absolute class. She's been a bit silly in organising her taxes, but that's not why they hate her. They hate her because she did not know her place.

Also labs are a journey, in a school context the lab I am teaching tomorrow, introducing recrystallisation and mpt = not problem solving l, next week, choosing a solvent for recrystallising an unknown = a bit of problem solving but i can't go straight to lab 2.
