"Mean percentage of time at the bedside during a 24-hour period varied among [internal medicine] interns from 8.8% to 18.3%." More time spent at bedside correlates with more job satisfaction, better wellness.

It’s #ThankAResident (and Fellow!) day. I am so grateful that all my training programs - Cleveland Clinic, UC San Diego, and now Scripps - have been so wellness focused. I started my day with a group mental wellness session funded by my training program!

I had a family meeting that went well today. The logistics all fell into place, starting with the nurse who found chairs for everyone and left them at bedside with my name on them! I was very grateful. It helped set a comfortable stage for conversion and understanding.
