Exploring without much if any pushback. Which again. Is odd. Considering how prior Prime games would make you fight a decent amount and against some pretty tanky foes as well. Maybe this gets better. It's just felt so off. This also is probably nitpicky. I dunno. That's where I'm at so far.

As currency to buy upgrades/new equipment. Just feels so strange. The actual moments where you're in an area and playing it as a Metroid game. It feels good. If not.. Oddly easy. I'm only on normal but outside of the tutorial area, there hasn't been too many enemy encounters it's mostly just >

For example my first new beam, I had to drive all the way back to the tutorial area to have a somewhat annoying npc install it into the suit for me. Which is so.. Odd in a Metroid game. It seems this will be a pattern going forward for other upgrades as well. Including needing to collect crystals >

This may be a few posts long. The desert/open world area really clashes with the still very Metroid structure of it. There's not much to find in it to begin with and when you do, you probably need something you don't have to do it. When you do get an upgrade, you may not be able to use it. >

I had reservations from the trailers but was still hopeful. It makes a good first impression but once you get to the desert things start falling apart. :( going to nap on it for a bit and get back to it. I took today and tomorrow off work to play it.

I dunno. I started randomly playing my old copy of Gran Turismo 4 a few weeks ago and now I've been stuck playing 7 on my PS5. Just addicted I guess haha

"don't you think it's weird that the UNSC Marathon has such a short entry, despite being both the flagship for the Marathon-class and also a reference to Bungie's foundational sci-fi work? could there not even be a tease about the ship being lost in transit to tau ceti?"
my date: leaves.
