If thats the message then its an gross oversimplification of the problem. Maternal outcomes don’t depend just on what happens in delivery. Its dependent on everything that happened in the 9 months of pregnancy and also on things that happened before pregnancy began.

This problem is complex. Racism is a factor, genetics is a factor, social economic issues are a factor and none of those factors exist in isolation which makes the problem even more complicated. The important question is how do we fix this? We don’t get there by pointing fingers.

Colleges could get rid of these very easily. Many colleges do not permit fraternities and sororities. Parents hold the purse strings and may want to consider boycotting schools that don’t have the courage to do the same.

This is interesting but a binary approach like this pretends that above a certain income paying full tuition is not a hardship and below that level full support is needed. This would be more egalitarian if they took a graduated approach to assistance.

I was kidding although to be honest some of these people were damaged in by their parents and just don’t have the self awareness to pull themselves out of their depravity
