Question: Do you think this mode could hold readers throughout a novel? More, could it sustain that without backsplaining some kind of apocalypse?

We recently saw a magnetic storm and a KP index of about 8.67. That messes up the ionosphere so I'm not surprised it messes up the innards of an electronically leaky plane.* But what do I know about science.

You too? I have "engineer's ear" - deafness due to the proximity of loud noise, same as my grandfather had who worked in an engineering factory. In my case it was from getting jammed up against the speakers at a Clash gig. I have tinnitus and lack of high frequency response. I need subtitles on TV.

I used to be the MC at (a revival of) an old time music-hall. I definitely did not need an anachronistic mic. My first line was "Can everyone hear me at the back?" & some 'wag' in the back row would ALWAYS call out "No!"
Can't recall using a mic at a conference, but I'm always put in a small room. 🙁
