Recently started painting and building model ships. Always open to suggestions/tips/constructive criticism from experienced painters and/or model makers.
Kongō with my previous (3rd) build, Hiei. In hindsight, I’m not sure why I went with such a darker gray for Hiei’s turrets compared to her hull and superstructure. That being said, it was still a valuable learning experience.

These Hasegawa kits always come with some spare parts, including several spare AA guns. So, I went on and added a reasonable number (10) more onto her. For safety. I’m saving the comically absurd number of AA guns build for Haruna.

4th build, and the most recent: Hasegawa 1/700 scale Kongo. Lead ship of a class of four IJN battlecruisers that were rebuilt into battleships during the 1930’s. This is in her 1944 configuration, which is why half of the secondary guns are gone, and there are a lot more AA guns instead.
