A foul stench permeates the air. You may remember me from such performances as Mr Onion and Mr Nimbus from the other place, or Rocky Robben from the days of AHFC.

the problem with stamp duty is that it's baked into the cost. If you take it away, the seller just increases the price back to that point anyway. We saw EXACTLY this happen when the last government reduced stamp duty for first time buyers.

Abolishing stamp duty! LOL a genuinely hilarious policy. Prices go up overnight at the previous rate of stamp duty. The only winners are the sellers, not the buyers.

The people who built Machu Picchu might have studied at Oxford University, which was founded 300 years earlier (they didn't).

Punchy opening from Tom Tugendhat, who says the move of young voters from centrist parties is "a logical series of outcomes for an economic system that has effectively become a Ponzi system for the old", eg the pension triple lock.

"Guess what? They have worked it out," Tugendhat says.

this may well be by design, they're only 1 year in afterall. But in the next couple of years they need to come up with some popular policies and improve people's lives. They don't want to leave it too late.

I absolutely don't want either of them. I'm a very middle of the road voter. Currently Labour don't really have an offering, their only policy is ID cards. If it carries on they stand to lose more votes to the Green and Lib Dems. Which only makes it more likely that Nige gets in.

It was a nothing manifesto. At the time it was said to be a tactic, don't have policies that upset people, ride the tory hate into power, and then come out with the policies. Now it seems like they really don't have any ideas.
doctoad.bsky.social
What did Labour offer when out of power and looking to win? Even their manifesto had nothing in it. They can't win next time round by 'not being the tories', they need some popular polices.

This is it. At the Labour conference we heard more about Reform's plans than Labour's. I get that they have to counter them, but what are they offering instead? Since they came in they raised NI and changed basically nothing. People don't see any difference from when the Tories were in.

Since coming in they've raised NI and given the NHS loads more money. They tried to reduce the welfare bill but backed down, tried to cut winter fuel but backed down. I can't think of anything else. It's a paper thin offering, no wonder they're currently so unpopular.

"Tories pledge £5,000 tax rebate for young homebuyers"
Haven't read the content. Posted because I can't remember seeing any Labourheadlines like this. What are their priorities? We hear constantly about more tax rises, to pay for what? I've no idea what Labour are trying to achieve #ThePoltics

Van Dijk has to be one of the most overrated players in PL history, right? Had a few good seasons, won one title, now he looks wobbly, but he plays for them, so you always see people talking about him as one of the best CB ever.

sideways pass on the halfway line, but they still count as an assist these days.

RJ is the best player on the pitch where ever he plays. Would be nice to see him play more often, not just for England.

lol, I'm sorry, but come on. Guiu was on for about 15 mins, ran around like a headless chicken (nothing wrong with the pressing), had one glorious opportunity where his first touch ran through to the keeper, and gave away one foul contesting a header. Let's not go over the top.

Gusto is playing in midfield, not James

Josh aside, every player in the XI is an international or signed for big £££. No excuses. We're below Utd in the table.

Three changes to the lineup. James aaand Gusto, doesn’t fill me with joy. Acheampong is a big shout, finally!

Need to deliver today.
