Warframe taking up a disproportionate amount of time is no fluke, but at the same time I think it's taken up more time than I'd like when I've mostly played it solo. I really should go finish Radix Chronicle's true ending & AoM Retold's Japanese DLC campaign before the year's up.

I suppose my discontent with Warframe could be chalked up to the inherent Sisyphean treadmill that is live-service gaming for both players and devs. It's always at-odds with closure, and admittedly I should play more of my games with endings lately. But surely I'm not the only one that feels this?

It's not as if it wasn't engaging or well thought out, mind you. Warframe makes even the mundane feel great. But when the pain points start to show, they really show. To this day I haven't unlocked a Gravimag or made an Operator Amp beyond the basic 1-1-1. The progress ladder feels disjointed to me.

I say the latter only because it's the holidays, I'm still busy with the job hunt and projects, and there's 3 other games I want to be playing right now 😭

As for my favorite voice addition this patch it's probably Beanstalk. I was not prepared for her accent. 🤠

Of course I can't wrangle friends to play with me in this day and age of scheduling and distant acquaintanceship so this arguably doesn't affect me, but I still think it was neat and thoughtful. I'll probably log on later today once I have my ducks in a row applying for more jobs.

I remember hearing about the immediate backlash during the devstream in chat and it's warranted considering how well Warframe's story lands with a lot of people. That said, the more I heard about this feature, the more I warmed up to the idea.
