Hi Bluesky community! We're excited to be here to share important humanitarian stories.

Would you let your network know where to find us? This is just a snapshot of what we stand for as an emergency medical organization:
Text reads: Stand with refugees and people forced from home.

Stand with people demanding access to safe abortion care.

Stand with people whose health is impacted by climate change.

Stand with people facing health inequities due to racism and discrimination.

Stand with vulnerable people everywhere.

During these visits, Narin kept a watercolor sketching journal, a habit she has relied on since her early years with MSF to process emotions and cope with the weight of humanitarian work.

Narin visited Sudan twice: first to West Darfur, where she supported the launch of a project on malnutrition and child health in Fora Baranga, and later to Port Sudan and Khartoum, where she witnessed both the challenges of access and the efforts of MSF teams on the ground.

We are calling for an immediate ceasefire and a surge of lifesaving humanitarian aid. All remaining hostages taken in Israel must be allowed to return home, and Palestinians held in arbitrary detention must be released.

MSF is calling on leaders  to stop the genocide. States must stop sending weapons to Israel that are being used to kill and maim civilians.

More than 67,000 Palestinians have been killed. Nearly 2 million have been forcibly displaced.

We are confronting a grim reality: Doctors can’t stop genocide. World leaders can.

Over the past two years, Israeli forces have systematically destroyed the conditions necessary for life in the Strip—attacking hospitals; striking camps for displaced people; destroying vital civilian infrastructure; and choking off access to food, water, medicines, and other basic needs.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas militants launched a horrific attack inside Israel, leaving 1,200 people dead and taking 251 people hostage.

In response, the Israeli military launched an all-out war in Gaza.

For two agonizing years in Gaza, we’ve been providing surgical care, wound and burn care, malnutrition screening and treatment, maternal and pediatric care, and other vital services while working under fire and under siege. www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/two-y...

Fourteen MSF team members lost their lives that tragic day. They are deeply missed and never forgotten.

Ten years ago today, MSF’s trauma hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan came under precise and repeated US strikes that claimed the lives of 42 people, including 14 MSF staff. Under attack, our colleagues fought for their lives and the lives of their patients with extraordinary determination and courage.

Nearly two in five Haitians are in urgent need of medical care due to widespread insecurity and violence, while 60 to 80 percent of Port-au-Prince’s health facilities are closed or non-functional for the same reasons. www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/civil...

5/ Today, in a country no longer at war, MSF runs a new trauma center in Kunduz. The 79-bed facility provides comprehensive care for patients with trauma injuries from falls, traffic accidents, unexploded ordnance, and more. www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/marki...

As world leaders meet today at the United Nations for a high-level conference on the situation of Rohingya Muslims and other minorities in Myanmar, the voices of those most affected remain largely unheard.

Despite the challenges, Rohingya refugees are clear in their demands: safety, justice, and dignity, and the ability to build a future beyond displacement.

These are some of the findings of MSF’s new report titled “The Illusion of Choice: Rohingya Voices Echo from the Camp,” which provides a snapshot of the challenges faced by Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/rohin...
Rohingya refugees: Unable to return home, unable to feel safe
Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh continue to face severe restrictions on their movement and their daily lives.

Yet 84 percent of all refugees recently surveyed by our teams in Bangladesh would not feel safe returning to Myanmar under the current conditions.

We are spotlighting the voices of over 1 million Rohingya refugees living in the camps of Cox’s Bazar district in Bangladesh.

Inside the camps, life is precarious. Families face barriers to health care and essential services, while insecurity and dwindling aid make the future even more uncertain.🧵

5/ A maternity hospital should be a place of hope and new beginnings—but in Gaza they are overshadowed by stress and uncertainty. Even in the midst of an offensive, hospitals should be protected. We call for an immediate halt to the violence and concrete measures to protect civilians.
