Unless A&C are specifically stated in-show to be an ace couple (there is still hope), most viewers will assume they're homosexuals, not homoromantic asexuals = not ace representation. Same thing goes for B&G. Not explicitly ace, so reads as heterosexual = not ace representation.

But then I'm also quite salty about turning 2 (well, 4) ostensibly aro ace coded characters (according to the book) into fanficky "OMG THEY WERE ROOMMATES 😍". I'm a sucker for romance, but when asexuals have almost zero media representation, turning platonic life partners into lovers kinda stings.

To me it just felt like a "we need everyone in position for s3" exercise, not a season in its own right. Like it was padded out with flashbacks & unconvincing love stories to make up time around a plot that could have been a Christmas special or something instead. It wasn't bad, it just felt flat. 🤷‍♀️
