RE Requiem is tough for me. The Leon portions of RE4 are some of my favourite gaming ever, but the Ashley parts stop me from more frequent replays. Waiting to see how the non-Leon parts of this are.

New Year’s resolution: finish the games I have before buying more. Only things on my radar to buy are the Mario Wonder Switch 2 stuff, and Final Fantasy 7 remake. We shall see what new announcements will test my resolve, but right now I feel good about it.

Gaming for me this week: Get up. Make coffee. Do daily’s in Animal Crossing to prep for 3.0. Play Fortnite for 1-2 hours for xp/quests grind. Then do adulting until that’s done. If time later, play Metroid Prime 4, AC:Shadows, SW:Outlaws, Cyberpunk, Avatar, or Hades 2. TOO MANY GAMES!

GOTY? Well my favourite game in 2025 was Donkey Kong Bananza, but I wouldn’t call it the BEST game of the year. Should maybe put a couple of hours into Expedition 33 before I do declare.

Thought @thegameawards.com were great. Lots of cool new stuff. Starwars may have stolen the show for me. Glad to see Mega Man. Divinity trailer went HARD. Hope to play Expedition 33 next year.

I am so perplexed by the adoration for the latest Sonic Racing game. Played the demo and really didn’t enjoy it. But I think I’m the only one? I prefer the feel of Mario Kart way more.

I have never played more than an hour of Skyrim, despite owning it on Switch. If this Switch 2 upgrade gets a 60fps update, I will buy it and play it. That will finally fill a major hole in gaming history for me. Come on Bethesda!

I remember thinking this Rayman game is right up there with Mario 64 in quality. One of the first great 3D platformers after Mario laid the groundwork. Can’t wait to see if it holds up.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows for Switch 2 is a technical marvel that really shows what this console is capable of. It is unbelievable. Say what you want about Ubisoft they sure have some talented porters. Haven’t experienced any of the crashing that’s supposedly being patched up this week.

No way can I find $100 CDN to spend on something for myself this close to Christmas. Will likely find it under the tree though.
Been so pumped for Metroid Prime 4 all year, but with AC:Shadows hitting this week, a new, awesome Fortnite Season, still working through Starwars Outlaws and Hades 2, and becoming re-addicted to Animal Crossing, I think I’m gonna wait.

Wow people really wanna play that Simpsons Fortnite. Can’t even load in. Get into a 10 minute queue and then it can’t log in and queue resets. Been a long time since Epic servers were destroyed like this. Guess I’ll wait until tomorrow.

While excited for enhanced tech, 90% of the new Animal Crossing features do not interest me. Some cool new items I will collect, but decorating was never the draw for me. Not interested in the hotel. But I just started a new island last week so I’ll get the update for the graphical bump.

Oh wow Toshinden was 1-2 With Tekken in the 3-D fighter genre on PS1. Then it just went away. Had lot of fun nights with these. This is cool.

Oh wow Toshinden was 1-2 With Tekken in the 3-D fighter genre on PS1. Then it just went away. Had lot of fun nights with these. This is cool.
Nintendo should just pour their most incredible artists and tech whiz people into a Captain Toad remake with MIND BLOWING graphics. The best graphics they’ve ever done. Use DLSS and Ray Tracing. Not that Captain Toad doesn’t already look amazing. Just wonder how hard that art Mario style could go.

Hades 2 is top tier game craftsmanship, but I’m having trouble with the early grind of unlocking things and powering up and talking to everyone all the time. When I get into it, hours disappear, but the drive to resume the next day doesn’t come.

I beat Act 1 in Silksong. Unbelievable game and do plan to come back to it down the road. I do think some accessibility features like “no double damage” or “create your own save point” will be added at some point. Likely years away though so it’s on the back burner as I move on to Hades 2.
