Finally, concerning Arch-based OS, they work on a Rolling Release, ie: it never needs upgrading because it is constantly upgrading: when you update it, it can often come as bigger than other distributions because it will upgrade everything. Yet, it is quite strong and stable

However, when it comes to not recommended: Fedora stands there, people forget that it's a test OS released by RedHat for testing future features and is prone to bugs and crashes because it's not meant to be used. Also, its version lifetime is 6 months, which means you will require to upgrade.

for gaming; if you've have had a Steamdeck or tested on SteamOS will be the same of your PC, Garuda comes with pre-installed gaming softwares in its Dr460nized edition.

Mint is a good start for beginners also, while I cannot attest on its gaming capabilities, I have no doubt it would do the work

Nowadays, the choice is wide, usually KDE is recommended for gaming as a Desktop Environment as others such as Gnome can cause issues, others could be fine.
Generally speaking pure Arch is to be avoided as it requires advanced knowledge for things like SteamOS or Garuda are based on Arch and meant
