I read it at 12ish years old and did the growing up with the characters bit but that didn't change the fact the 5th book is boring as shit and it's downhill from there on. I lost respect for her as an author by the end, because she doesn't respect the characters she created.

Thissssss!! The right pen is trash, it's difficult to hold, the different colors snap back ALL THE TIME because the resistance has to be lower on them due to the fact that they curve when you push them out.
