Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon is a powerful story of justice and resilience. I gave it 4 stars for its portrayal of a 54-year-old midwife who relentlessly pursues truth and justice. A compelling read full of feminine rage. Fits for prompts 9, 16(nominated?), 32, 33, 43 #52bookclub

We enjoyed a snowy hike at Runge. Our parks are such a blessing… We also picked up some red wigglers from a local worm breeder to start indoor composting. Did you know they can break down pizza boxes and other cardboard? Make sure there are no stickers or cheese. #vermiculture #composting #hiking

Brilliant satirical cover from Private Eye, mocking spineless media organisations and journalists who submit and cower in the face of power 👏

Reading Parable of the Talents now by Octavia E Butler. Found this passage relevant to our times. Actually this entire book is relevant to our dystopian reality. #booksky #booktok

What are your reading? I’m working on challenge 4: starts with an N with The Nordic Theory of Everything. I’m too broke and busy with kids to travel so exploring other cultures though books is my only option. This is a look at a Finnish immigrant’s comparison of American and Nordic culture & policy.
