We need to keep using the language of abuse when we talk about the behaviour of the Trump administration, because that's what it is. Every woman who has seen it, or lived it, recognizes it. The way to break the spell is to call it what it is and know that we don't have to live it.

This is the one thing where I wish you weren't so much of a trend-spotter, Madame Streisand. Dangerous heat ways and severe forest fires show remind us how existential this issue of climate change continues to be.

My dad's gem was, "Don't fight with a pig; you get dirty and the pig likes it." Which is basically the lesson that President Zelenskyy unfortunately learned and thankfully PM Carney avoided.

I agree that the industry has to find a reasonable level and fairness on both sides of the border. But AI is also stealing jobs (and making content crappier). I would like to see more Canadian content being made in our country and exported, instead of just servicing US producers.

I think we also need to be assured that Damian Kurek did not receive anything in exchange for relinquishing his seat. To have done so could rise to the level of bribing a public official and should be referred to the RCMP.

Exactly. Companies like Meta, Amazon, Apple, Google and Netflix sell and operate globally, and pay zero tax in those jurisdictions. Maybe that needs to change.

This is a direct hit to Canada again. Many American films are shot here, for many reasons, including great, experienced crew and exchange rate etc. I worked on a series that producers could not afford to be made wholly in the US. So US/Canadian crew - win/win. Stupid to destroy what is working.

I disagree, and I support all that the GPC objectives. The criteria are long-standing and clear. The GPC essentially lied to the Commission, saying they were running candidates in all ridings, when they weren't. To bend the rules for the GPC and not the PPC is what is undemocratic (and I hate PPC).
