I just spent 75 lovely mins sat in a dark room listening to drone music played on 4x cello, 1x viola, 1x violin, 2x Fr horn, and 1x bloody great pipe organ. Hurrah for Claire M Singer and the London Contemporary Orchestra at the QEH. Tick v.g. would bliss out to again.

The Tilda Swinton spoken word bit on the new Orbital track is mostly pretty unimaginative faux-guided-meditation stuff... But there's a bit in the middle which deadpans some lyrics from Lionel Bart's Oliver! and I have two responses to this. They are (1) what? and (2) no.

If you're a watchmaker or clockmaker, you don't talk about your products having features, you talk about them having complications. I think this is a very healthy attitude and we should adopt it more widely.

Hey folks. I just posted my albums (and bonus track) of 2024. Jungle! Post-footwork, apparently! Horizontal hip hop! Chiptune singeli! Electronic drone folk something something! Stoned robots auditioning to be Tom Waits’ backing band! It's got something for everyone???

Annual round-up time again. Just sneaking this into the first week of January… Another banging year for dance music, retro and modern. Honourable mentions here go to Paranoid London, Korea To…
