Even just listening to the pod, you could hear and feel Jon’s pain during this part. I thought about being torn away from my kid like that, and felt that punch in the gut and moment of panic all parents do when they think about their children in these situations. I’m so sorry for her kids and wife.

What are you going to do? Those are all things that should and will hopefully happen. But what are Americans going to do? I ask as a Canadian, who is overnight finding myself going from avoiding travelling to the US as much as possible to outright fearing for the lives of my friends living there.

Why dilute what Bernie is calling for? NO contributions, publicly funded elections should be the goal. It’s how we do it in Canada, and much of the democratic world.

I hope you are right, but evidence looks damning. Consider the Starlink contract, he “cuts up the deal” right before tariffs were delayed, then it’s back on. It was cancelled for a matter of hours. Economics also seem strange. Hundreds of millions pledged for 15 thousand connections makes no sense.
