it's wild to me that the premise for this show is essentially "the most interesting thing in human history has come to pass; the show will follow the least curious person to ever live"

once they've made a trillion dollars and amassed unshakable power, they'll be able to finally show us that they've been doing it for us all along! if only we could see that! and of course if they never turn that corner, it's because we didn't didn't give them enough time and runway.

Feels of a kind to when commentators say that someone is "good at politics" without clarifying that what they mean is "good at holding power for self-serving ends" and not "good at executing power to the benefit of their constituents and in accordance with their functional political purpose."

Really interesting commentary. Feels connected to another thought I've seen elsewhere, about the potential impact of being 50+ years since the last draft in the US and how that has impacted the psyche of folks to feel less connected nationally and internationally (note: I am not pro-draft haha)

okay but does it just keep repeating from there? ex. middle 30s man is emotionally early 20s man, but then early 20s man in a vacuum would be considered to be like a child, so by extension is mid 30s man (and, in fact, all men of all ages) actually a 5 year old?
