Suggestion: Get 2 non-playoff CFL teams to try the new rules this November, in a US city, where they have these short fields already. and compare that with their CFL game from this season, same players.
Then decide.

How many years? Decades? has the CFL held Touchdown Atlantic games to measure the interest for a Maritimes based team? No follow up. Now a new guy comes in and decides to change the field, change the rules, and force dozens of fields and cities to make massive structural changes-with no trial?! NO!

Suggestion: Have the non-playoff teams this year play an exhibition game with these new rules, on a US field.
For over a decade the CFL teased us with "Touchdown Atlantic games, BUT never followed up with a team? Now a few rich guys get to change the rules, the field, without ever trying it?

A plan for disaster.

The new commish has only a remote attachment to the CFL, and is essentially a TV executive. Obviously, the goal is to tap into NFL money and marketing by selling-out the Canadian Game. He must be a pro-51rst-state guy. Big sell-out.

The "rouge" is effectively dead. The field moves towards an NFL, US college look.
This looks like a big step towards making the CFL a minor league to train NFL fringe guys. It is a major step towards killing Canadian football. Shame.

I really miss the drafts from 15 or 20 years ago.
