I'm excited to announce that @vemetric.com is now Open Source 🎉

After a long period of thinking about this, and exchanging with others, I finally decided to operate Vemetric under an open-core model, making its codebase openly available

he was happy that it's now working on his site and I could convince him to stick with Vemetric .. a huuge win for me, because now the Wordpress Plugin is also more robust in different scenarios 8/X

I already had a solution for this because when integrating Vemetric via Google Tag Manager, you have the same problem, but I haven't implemented it in the Vemetric Wordpress plugin 6/X

after a bit of back and forth, I figured out that one of his Wordpress plugins wrapped the Vemetric script into another script, making reading from the script's data attributes not work anymore 5/X

I told the user I was really sorry for this and I'd give him the refund anytime, but also asked if he'd be open to taking a closer look and see if we could fix the problem on his site 4/X

from feeling great to feeling quite bad in a few seconds .. especially because I just provided a fix for the Wordpress Plugin a few days earlier and couldn't really think of what would be the case of this issue 3/X

a few hours later: got a cancellation request .. the user wrote me the Vemetric Wordpress plugin broke his website and he wants a refund - yikes! 2/X

I was already thinking a lot about what's the best way to integrate AI into Vemetric (or the other way around)

yesterday, OpenAI announced ChatGPT Apps .. providing a ChatGPT App for Vemetric might be a good way to start this journey 👀

improving the Vemetric Docs with Tabs, showing examples for the different SDKs

they sync into the localStorage, so the user will always see the correct examples depending on their SDK of choice :D

I've finally switched to proper auth guards via beforeLoad from TanStack Router

before I had a weird "Redirects" component that took care of the auth guarding globally and had weird effects when auth state refreshed 🙈

Overall, I have to say I'm still very busy with my freelancing project, but it's getting better and I'm finding more time and energy to move Vemetric forward 🚀

Also, a big website integrated Vemetric, hence the huge increase in tracked events

But I'm still not sure if it's legit and if they'll stick with Vemetric in the long run, let's see :)
