Hypocrisy. Plain and simple.

Christian Nationalism is not about Christianity.

Why are Christians in America adamantly arguing that it is not the government's role to care for the poor because that's the role of Christianity and yet at the same time they are arguing for Christian Nationalism and a greater role for Christianity in every facet of government?

66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

I would push back on that by saying that human beings choose very specific sins and evils which God Himself decided that they would commit. Sinners don't commit random sins. They sin in very specific and meticulous ways which God determined in minute detail from before creation.

The raising of Lazarus from the dead is about God being able to raise people from the dead *without their permission*. That's exactly what happens in salvation.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

What's it take to make a choice or a decision?

It takes internal and external factors and conditions of which you're not the ultimate cause or source of. In other words, you're not a god. You're a moved mover/caused causer, unlike God who is the Unmoved Mover/Uncaused Causer.
