I think the real concern is not so much that he cancels the elections, but that his desire to cancel them morphs into something like federal agents seizing “fraudulent ballots” at a bunch of locations with media repeating “allegedly fraudulent ballots” while courts and local officials hem and haw.

maybe I’m overly cynical at this point but without knowing where it came from this seems like just a quickly AI generated track.

That sentence about “the vitriol directed at Jews after the Hamas attack“ is incredible. As if October 7th was the reason pro-Israeli people were criticized and not theor support for subsequent genocidal war, which just goes unmentioned.

I initially felt that the movement depended on the man - based on the 2016 primary and the way MAGA sort of fractured a bit and seemed to depend on him during Biden’s term. But I ask myself would a Vance or Desantis be more moderate, and would SCOTUS push back against them and think nope.

Oh hell yeah I can walk to that spot. Thank you!

You’re in pdx? What’s spot do you recommend?

You’d have to imagine Acosta would have a problem with someone interviewing an AI version of him and presenting it as an interview with Acosta. It’s either incredibly myopic or incredibly dishonest for him not to view this interview in that same light.

I can’t imagine filing something where I haven’t put eyes on every case cited.

Somehow missed that it was linked at the bottom of the article I’ll give it a read.

Does it matter that the Chatbot might create speech that none of the possible speakers intended to say? I think that’s the thing I’m having trouble wrapping my head around.
June 26, 2025 at 9:27 PM
Honest question - is it necessary to be able to identify a speaker in First Amendment jurisprudence? For instance if someone asks a chatbot a question and it returns an answer that would under current law qualify as defamatory, whose speech is it? The chatbot (the company) or the prompt writer?

The inability to follow “If the 33 year old failed hip hop artist can outmaneuver the NYC media, Unions, and the President then…” with “he is likely a very talented politician and coalition builder” is a really striking cognitive failure.

This is the king of “worst person I know” moments. Shut down the meme, it won’t ever top this.

When I lived in NYC in my 20s I feel like it was almost a point of pride for me and my friends that had granny carts, like we were unlocking another way to make the city super easy to live in.

It’s sort of like when people were attacking Melania for having done nude modeling. Some people just really hate women and are chomping at the bit to say vile stuff.

The Trump Doctrine is really just “if you do it openly, it can’t be a crime or scandal.”

Neah-Kah-Nie. (Correct spelling)
December 25, 2024 at 10:07 PM
Neah-Kay-Nie has beautiful views of manzanita beach, about 1 1/2 hours from pdx. Probably too low to have a cloudy day ruin the views. In general, tough time of year for views around here.
December 25, 2024 at 10:06 PM
How far is “fairly close”? I’d recommend Tom Dick & Harry for the view of Hood (unless it’s cloudy) and check AllTrails for current conditions. Usually it’s travelled enough that’s it’s not snowy, but requires spikes.
