Rest in peace, Anthony Geary (1947-2025). 40+ years ago, he and "General Hospital" co-star Genie Francis turned Luke and Laura Spencer into a household word, "Lukeandlaura." Their soap opera storylines were often contrived and thoroughly implausible, but never dull - and we loved every minute of it.

You know, in a perverse sense I have to give Donald Trump his due. Every time I think that he can't possibly sink any lower morally, he somehow always manages to crash through that floor and plummet to new depths of despicability. His cruelty and depraved indifference cannot be contained.

It’s hard enough for a director to create one movie that’s considered a classic. Rob Reiner had several of them. Others will also have their own favorites but for me, Reiner's signature film is his poignant coming-of-age masterpiece "Stand By Me" (1986) with its heartbreaking and bittersweet ending.
