Read Chapter 4. Everyone was so mean to Pierrot for no reason! I felt so bad for him! Were people really like that in 1930’s Germany? If so, I can see why the country made so many great efforts to improve itself. At least he is with his Aunt Beatrix now.

Day 4

Day 3:
Chapter 3 was a hard read. As a Jew, it urks me to read antisemitic phrases. I don’t like Josette. I would be happier with Pierrot’s adoption if he wasn’t as cruel to Hugo as he was. Yes Hugo was in the wrong, but Antisemitism is worse than petty playground bullying

Day 3:

I read chapter 2. I like Simone and Adele. I wish Madame Bronstein could have explained to Pierrot. I also think they accidentally raised Hitler at that orphanage, based on the pencil mustache.
