#lunchtimelp Joey DeFrancesco + The People – Project Freedom was released in 2017 by Mack avenue records with Dan Wilson on guitar, Troy Roberts on tenor, and Jason Brown on drums. Joey D is in great form both on the B3 organ and trumpet. He was one of the greats. #jazzsky .

#lunchtimelp Milt Jackson was born 103 years ago today in Detroit. The Modern Jazz Quartet is a 1972 2 LP compilation of Prestige albums from the mid 50s. It's swinging chamber Jazz at its finest. On the 1961 Atlantic release Bags and Trane Jackson teamed up with John Coltrane, a favorite. #jazzsky

#lunchtimelp South Side Soul by The John Wright trio with Wendell Roberts and Walter McCants was recorded by RVG in 1960. Wright recorded a handful of albums for Prestige and this was his first. It's true to its name with a soulful hard bop sound on originals that pay homage to Chicago. #jazzsky
