To be fully transparent, I was also a bit of a wardriver back then. I understand the workarounds and backups but bad actors are always a concern. Spoof traffic, spoof road hazards, so on.

I distrust the encryption and timing required for an ad hoc network to safely be utilized, yes.

Wife lived in an apt complex with a central boiler before we were married and even on an upper floor there were def days you had to open a window.
Still a great idea for the winter months.
