Of course, my previous post assumes a world where it is advantageous to do good, lasting work. That's not the case anymore for mainstream DevOps work, we are janitors cleaning up kids puke and being told we're a blocker.
The world has moved on to.. something else, unsustainable.

1) Having Product or Development dictate the DevOps components of a project is such a boneheaded move that it's difficult to convey to others (especially when I say boneheaded) because their needs are fundamentally SHORT term compared to infra LONG term stability and repeatability needed.

PTSD sucks majorly. It's difficult to tell when people are genuine or not about offers to help or listen.

I've learnt in some cases. In others, just the offer of help is like water to a dying desert wretch: it's incredibly difficult to not jump on it and seize it with all my remaining strength.

Ever notice how DevOps came from traditional system administration, and started out using the tools, lessons and techniques of a somewhat venerable field.. then completely ditched most of them in favour of chasing software devs
at the expense of depth, stability, or even practicality?
