There's lots of people who don't speak general american, and I feel tying it to a specific nationality would only create a false sense of superiority in american English speakers over speakers of other dialects, it'd have to essentially be a dialect that doesn't currently exist

I think that personally my proposition would be to recreate english from scratch by evolving it from old english, and stopping when people can generally understand it without much trouble while also retaining more or less phonetic spelling, any changes made needing to be approved by a council
