I've been having pretty decent success by starting with 2x speed, 1x missle, then kinda whatever. I try to meet the first boss with at least 3x speed, and hope to have max speed shortly after. I think I found out about this game from one of your reposts, so thanks! This game fuckin rules

Gradius had me wary of going over 2, but yeah, gotta max it out. Strike is also more crucial than I first thought. Strike onto basically every token and launch pad and you'll be Sektori'n' in style

God I love this game. Playing the demo at a Service Merchandise kiosk (lol) as a young teen is what convinced me to get a Saturn over a PlayStation back in the day
