Screw that. I'll hold onto my critical mind for the ending, but King Sorrow at 40% has all the making of one of the best things I've read in recent memory. Hill is taking all the right lessons from his dad on this one. This is his IT, his Revival, his Christine.
I'm so glad the man is back.

"Friends" is a beloved American sitcom that aired from 1994 to 2004, following six young adults—Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe—living in New York City. The show explores their friendships, romances, careers, and personal growth over ten seasons.

I have moved on. I was halfway through Intensity by Dean Koontz when my man Joe Hill blessed mailboxes across America with his first novel in 9 years, King Sorrow.
Guess we're doing another tandem read!

Going to do a tandem read next before King Sorrow comes in the mail.
Up next are The Lesser Dead by Christopher Buehlman (described by SGJ as the "perfect vampire book" in the afterwords of Buffalo Hunter Hunter) and The Navajo Nightmare by D. Sodergren and Steve Stret (my 3rd Sodergen).

Alright. Took a couple of days, but we read All the Fiends of Hell by Adam LG Nevill. Look, overall, I think I'm going to give it ~4🔪, but that is on the strength of the prose (when not describing the color red 6000 times). It's too long, but the emotional connections work. The character's work. 1/4

Wow. It was brutal and touching and sentimental and gross and 200 pages on the dot.
5 🌟 well-deserved.
There is so little I'd change. The opening line (and subsequent referenced item later in the book) are a little "edgy" for me.

Midnight Mass really sucked all air out of the room (derogatory) after a fantastic opening. I love that it plays vampires straight. I read writing advice once thay was like, "Always ask the next question." In this case, "What would stop vampires from taking over the world?" Nothing.
