The information environment is what worries me. Murdoch and Ailes built their firewall specifically in anticipation of days like today (my little collage says it all). Here's hoping the scattering of sources, unreliable though they are, has broken their firewall.

The missing something is the media echo chamber. As long as the GOP is only trying to appeal to conservatives, and those conservatives exclusively consume media from a closed, partisan loop, the optics aren't an issue for the administration.
