I mostly enjoyed S1 and 2. Lot of big swings that don't land but the ones that do really do. And the S2 finale has some really frustrating parts but also some of the most achingly beautiful cinematography in all of Star Trek.

Definition of mixed bag.

Firing still has the stigma of being fired for cause. Layoffs = fired for the whim of upper management.

The people being let go are no more at fault than the people displaced by the LA fires.

Personally I think the most appropriate term is "fucked over".
