On PS5 Germany's digital store, it's available without issues. So this is coming from Valve refusing to remove the "Adult Content" tag from the game (note, it's the same on PS5, and the game is rated T)

Seeing a game that has ads/billboards in NYC be too much for Steam is irl parody level stuff.

In Inti Creates' case (and Aquaplus, who were affected by their Dungeon Travelers games getting banned from Steam), both have -recently- talked about how Steam and other storefront censorship have directly affected the kinds of games they can make, and that just skipping Steam isn't an option.

After that embarrassing meltdown on here yesterday with a certain journalist regarding Horses (as well as another journalist in its associated Resetera thread scolding people with a, quote: "you have a lolicon mindset" argument), it seems for an alarming amount, this is only going exactly as planned

I'd also say it'd be highly likely that a Playstation version of this bundle would release globally without issue as well.

Nintendo is feeling paypro heat, sure, but yes, the overrcorrection to this degree is not necessary... I also think they are having usual corporate "brand image" concerns.

Yeah, the Citra video was previously the only video that came up if you were searching for gameplay in English. Now that the Eastasiasoft Asia-English releases have come out, you can easily find much more proper videos.

Considering Xseed's own message specifically spells out "the contents of several games in the bundle did not comply with platform guidelines", I'd say its quite a bit more likely than these RPGmaker VNs being "badly optimized."

This bundle is released in Japan, with English support too. There is nothing wrong with the ports, Nintendo's Western guidelines have changed since early 2024. There is a ton of info compiled in here:

Nintendo Switch: new Nintendo guidelines causing games to be denied release in the West
Update: I updated the title and replaced Nintendo eShop with Nintendo Switch as the guidelines seemingly apply to all Switch games, not just eShop titles. Apologies for the inaccuracy! *** In the pa...

Extremely late in this conversation now, but the VN this is about is NOT on GOG. What you most likely saw was GOG's Wishlist page, which is entirely user driven (there is Nintendo games on it lol)

From a "Western" perspective, storefronts that sell this game are not -that- in the open.

I don't remember Labyrinth of Galleria being listed as supported until now, and I've checked recently. Despite the listed date of July.

I just had this and Tokyo Xanadu (still not supported) that were not compatible in my own library, down to one now.

Even now so many people who remain in games journalism are quiet about the censorship occurring from MC, Visa, PayPal. Not even on Bluesky / Twitter do they talk about it. They just don’t care

I've been watching this every update. It's one of my biggest stressors right now. I really, really don't want this to come here too

Not directly pointing, but the one behind the bill is a coward that quit bsky and went back to Twitter (says a lot) due to pushback to her bill on here

I hate this

Excellent news on this! It will now also be releasing on GOG in addition to DLsite, so no VPN workarounds needed on GOG's side.
