Indeed! I'm not terribly well versed in Web Components beyond little test cases, but I definitely do worry that naming conventions will go the way of hashed CSS classes that come out of build processes.

As I mentioned, I have immense respect for you, but I dislike the "That doesn't mean I can't [insert thing here]" platitude as a means of justification.
Nobody's stopping you from expressing yourself. I would have just liked to have seen that done in a more respectful way.

With that said, I think it's unfair to assume that Wes wholesale isn't speaking out against injustice in places where it makes sense for him to do so.

For sure, a larger platform of course has more potential to do good or spur action from others who might not act.
You're also right, to an extent, about culpability of those that don't speak out. However I'm sure you don't have much insight into Wes' personal life, or how he contributes locally.

I've gotta say; simply having a platform doesn’t mean you’re obligated to take a public stand on political or social issues.
The actions you take in your personal life far outweigh how loud your voice is when you shout into the void.
