Amazing piece and Lo and Behold just in time for some controversy involving a past winner with Studio Larian.

With the stuff that just came put from Larian, this is looking VERY grim now.

A thing that always fascinates me is how much flak Nintendo gets in the west about being bad for the industry when they're vehemently non-ai, support employee work/life balance, don't indulge in cynical layoffs, and very much seem to support LGBT rights. Mind you this is Japan and the US needs work.

I saw an article about it, but lost it. Do you have the link?

People have a misguided and naive view that privately owned companies and indies are somehow more "moral and artistic" when yeah no, they ain't Sonny Jim. They're just as prone to the same sleaze and corrupt BS as the others, they just have better publicity and no reason to talk due to private owns.

You like how Trails didn't even get nominated this year? 13 Sentinels getting passed over for Best Narrative? The glazing of E33 for "saving/elevating turn-based RPG's" when Metaphor Fantazio and P3:Reload were last year or that Octopath 0 and Dragon Quest 1/2 HD2D? Just what? Last month?

Well that's not good.

Which game?

They got money from NetEase and Microsoft. That's about as aggressively not indie as you can get.

Because it was exceptional in the exact same ways that JRPG's which get derided for being "too anime" have been exceptional for DECADES and gets glazed as the second coming of gaming Christ with it's only tangible change being not anime and having a more western aesthetic.

NOOOOOOOOO!!! It dropped a spot! 😞

Still good to see it in the Top 5 though.
December 2, 2025 at 3:12 AM
What rumor is even going around that isn't completely obvius BS grift?
November 26, 2025 at 8:26 PM
Are people STILL using this excuse for piracy and emulation? Bro, just say it's because you're broke and/or don't want to pay stuff like the rest of us who have been doing this since the early 00's.

You can still download your games from their servers, just not buy new ones. And I'd absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to hear how you feel about Steam given that their client is very much DRM and the server situation the same thing as what people are bitdhing and moaning about here for clout.

This makes me question so many things that happened in the recent World Series.

Just recently Valve found a way to circumvent gambling restrictions in the EU. Surprisingly, this made ZERO headlines and all you get is endless mindless glazing for the company.

Because it's all paid for engagement grift. They all likely know it's complete bullshit and don't care as long as it drives traffic to them and their dying websites. It's the same thing with Mueller and the paid to blog thing. They know their audiences and will pander to them for clicks and cash.
November 14, 2025 at 4:53 PM
It's engagement bait slop. Pretty much every content creator went full mask off once they realised the sheer amount of coin they could make peddling anger and outrage repackaged as "righteous consumer indignation".
November 4, 2025 at 7:14 PM
I've always wondered about the accuracy since it would mean that there were no defective/damaged/stolen units or that those numbers were in the 1% margin of error which is just bullshit.

What happened on Twitter?
April 27, 2025 at 12:36 AM
The Dildo of Consequences arrived unlubed and with barbs. Moron thought he had a slam dunk case after saying that Billy Mitchell was the cause of Apollo's suicide(which he never stated was the reason for the case on his money socials). The judge disagreed and did he appreciate Karl's antics.

Grift. Gotta keep people angry and thus engaged with your content. It's why so many vids open up with "Like, Comment, Subscribe".
