Just for clarity and to head off any response going down an unnecessary path, I’m in no doubt that the intention of any individual taking part in the protest was to act peacefully.
But my question remains, given the behaviour and unstated goals of ICE, why the fuck would you take your child too?

I was quoting the actual words used by posters. I had seen the word “march” used too, but a march and a protest have different connotations and by far of the majority of people described the event as a peaceful protest.

Genuine question from a parent in Europe… why, in the current climate, would you take a child to a “peaceful protest” that goes anywhere near to an ICE facility?
