The Constitution is silent on how it is to be applied. Once Trump attempted to overturn his election loss, he should have been held constitutionally ineligible to ever hold office again. The 14th amendment should have been applied by any means necessary to see to that end.

If the 14th Amendment was correctly applied at the state level, then why did the corrupt SCOTUS overturn their decision to keep Trump off the ballot in Colorado for his sedition?

Unfortunately the Founders did not foresee a corrupt SCOTUS shielding an insurrectionist when states attempted to assert the 14th Amendment in preventing a traitor from running for POTUS.
