WeBs count at Longham this morning. 1 Goldeneye, 1 Geat White Egrets, plus plenty of Coot, Tufted Duck, a couple of Shoveler some Wigeon and Gadwall. A bit of disturbance in the morning from paddle boarders put ducks to flight, some going high and off. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

So many godwits in flight over Middlemere, RSPB Arne today. We thought they were spooked by a marsh harrier, but apparently, it was a peregrine.

But ringing aside, there were some good birds around the farm. Ring Ouzel overhead, likely Woodlark (heard just one call), Cirl Bunting and the first Marsh Tit I've seen at this site. It was on a mission and didnt hand around!

Had to get out ringing this morning to celebrate #WorldMigratoryBirdDay. However, it turned out to be one of the quietest mornings for a while. Chiffchaff numbers dropped off but did ring the first Redpoll of the autumn. Made up for the lack of numbers.
