Whereas I grew up in a city where the archeological evidence suggests there has been a relatively major settlement there since 6th Millenium BCE. Definitely sort of the opposite end of the spectrum 😅

George Bridman and Robert Beverly Haley's books are pretty useful (careful with some very dated ideas in especially the former, though). You could also try copying Bargue plates
