Yeah i get that, ive learned to try and survive until something crazy happens, fight for my life and save after that.
But even if someone else has that bad habit, let them cos at least they are playing your game. Eventually they will man up and use it less and less.

To me thats too funny, causes panic and tells me to not underestimate my foes in this game, and to always be prepared. If i didn’t have a save state there i would have got frustrated and turned off the game. But instead, i had fun. Do you not want people to have fun with your game?

No because your ruining an experience of discovery. Look at this clip. I enter a room and get rushed, which makes sense level design wise because im stuck on a moving train. I had no ammo, didnt know that was gonna happen and got killed for it, luckily i saved right outside that door..

Every game in some way requires skill of corse but boomer shooters require trail and error. You dont know whats coming most time because you’re exploring a closed off sandbox someone has created to be evil in its design. Sorry to use AI but chatgpt explains it better than me.

If that is to me, boomer shooters have never been about skill, its always about exploration, ammo management, overcoming overwhelming situations and escaping. Games like Doom eternal changed that formula slightly requiring some sort of skill.

Bro all i can do is laugh. 😂😂 you’re funny man.

Because boomer shooters do not have check points. They have level starts and level ends. Check points in games are usually for continuous experiences. As i said it’s an OPTIONAL way of being in control as a player.

This too. I only really use my steamdeck really for retro gaming. My Xbox ally x allows me to let my PC have a rest. Valve need to release a stronger version for that or as we have coming up, a steam machine.

Also it doesn’t help that most games look better in handheld mode and have performance issue when trying to play graphically intensive games on a bigger screen.

Fall damage by nothing i did wrong. I didn’t manage to save at all. I just turned it off. No dev wants you to do that.

Most games dont even tell you that you can SS. Blood caught me off guard with that yesterday. I’ll Tell You How i use them. Mostly when i pick up a key item or deal with a bunch or a strong enemy. I create my own checkpoints. I played blood the other day, got to the end of the level and died by

Separately, officially they are £75, 3rd party docks are around £20.

That is probably the most silliest thing I’ve read today. You promote cheats over quick saves and save states, then say about sacrificing integrity? Come on man. Boomer shooters are known for surprises and putting you in unfair situations. No one is saying save every 10 seconds to ruin the exp.
November 21, 2025 at 10:06 AM
Boomer shooters are that way because it allows those who find these games hard to feel safe and not quit, taking it at a pace that suits them. That’s nothing wrong with that.

What do you want to know?
November 17, 2024 at 6:13 AM
Interesting. Ironically, I tried to play it on steam last week and there were no multiplayer servers. I wonder I’d this will help re-introduce them.
