NH staff are the hardest working people in our society. They are underpaid, overworked, understaffed. I worked in the industry while it transitioned from small private facilities to huge, money grubbing corps. I saw how the level of care dwindled as wages stagnated and staffing quota were cut.

Obviously one group is made up of the residents who forfeit all of what they own before Medicaid starts to pay. The other group are the people that do the work. The nurses and the aides. And yes, a great deal of the staff in nursing care are immigrants.

My mother was an RN in nursing homes for most of her adult life. I worked in nursing homes myself for over 20 years. I do know where the fraud is. It is with the corporations that own these establishments. There are two set of people being exploited in the elder care industry:

I'm still trying to figure out how I am going to file this year. I have been using the free fed gov. software since they started having it. With the little bit of money I have I really do not want to pay to file. Do they still have the forms at the PO?

Having worked in nursing homes for over 20 years myself, I saw this coming. I'm surprised it took this long. For decades it has been said that when boomers become seniors there will not be enough younger people to care for them. The immigrant policy is going to insure that is the case.
