Thank you for all your commentary, which accompanied me as I watched the episodes! I finished the series last night. I found the series to be riveting, with the exception of the last two episodes. (Then again, I am not familiar with the novels.)

I honestly had difficulty tracking ZZH’s position (ally/foe) for these last two episodes!

This was surprising and hauntingly effective. Xin Mingshan’s performance was pitch perfect. He was reveling in having orchestrated his enemy’s downfall.
