Ugh I’m just like.. ok so the art tagged one direction feels like the other to you? The correlation between t/b and characterization is there, but not because it’s intrinsically defined. Just say you don’t like the characterization, as long as it’s sfw the tagging is fine.
My thing with t/b on ships is that labeling is important for nsfw bc it is convention and basic courtesy bc there are people who do care. Makes sense too if you personally feel it affects ur characterization. But it is just the same ship and the dynamics don’t have to change+

On the other hand in terms of being the one consuming he doesn’t strike me as one to want to do that. He wants to be wanted after being deprived of affection his whole life. So -> wants to be eaten.

I think there’s just something about cannibalism as a metaphor for love that’s especially appealing from the asexual spectrum perspective because oftentimes the ultimate symbol of love is sex but cannibalism is in a way more accessible because we all get hungry
