One of Trump's most lasting effects will be the idea that Impeachment itself, as opposed to conviction/removal by the Senate (which we all know is basically impossible) is something to be avoided at almost all costs. Now, if you can get acquitted by the Senate, you did nothing wrong.

Illustrates the need for precision in plea agreements. Makes no sense to cooperate to get a reduction from a minimum on only one count when you've pleaded to two. OTOH, that's sharp practice by the AUSA. She had to know what the defendant agreed to, or thought she was agreeing to.

The obvious response is, "You could stand there like a turnip (and probably will) and we'd STILL like it if you left the Presidency to ... do just about anything else."

Neophyte here. Is there significance to the 39 calibers? I THINK that means the barrel is 39x155mm in length, but I don't know the significance. More muzzle velocity? More spin for stabilization and accuracy?

Well, to be fair, if you define "National Security" to mean "my own personal best interests," then anything good and decent can be a threat to National Security.

So, if I load up a few buddies and go after some of these tiny boats in the Caribbean, does that mean I get to keep what I capture and sell it? 'Cuz it seems to me that what I will be capturing is guns and cocaine, and doesn't MAGA supposedly frown on bringing that shit into the country?

I gotta say, it will be hard to find an equally unqualified successor. I'm glad to see he gave plenty of notice and will be diligently putting in the hours to keep getting the job done until he can be replaced.

Never said "disqualify." But it is political malpractice not to recognize and take into consideration that it may not be the best qualified person but the most electable. The world learned to our sorrow in 2016 and 2024 that the two are not necessarily the same.

I said nothing about accepting it. But we have to recognize that it exists and take that into consideration in choosing a candidate for the next "most important election of our lives." It sucks, but it is real.

There are times when "Because I said so" is a perfectly legitimate reason for ordering something to be done. This would be one of those. Why he has to call it a DEI or woke issue is beyond me.
