I’d be worried that Vance’s immediate moves and coverage thereof will overwhelm the joy while the scorn of Trump’s fans on any expression of joy or relief will just put everyone more on edge.

Yes! Republicans won a majority of seats with a minority of votes in 2012. It followed the historically aggressive gerrymandering in 2010. @mattyglesias.bsky.social was trying to make a huge important point but screwed it up with a typo.

Important typo: “By contrast, it’s a huge deal that in 2012 the GOP won a small House minority on the back of a small loss in the popular vote.” GOP won a MAJORITY in 2012.

I love what MLB has done with the ASG. Treat it like the exhibition it is. It was dumb to make it “count.” Now it’s fun. When managers had to both try to win and try to play everyone, it was impossible and didn’t work.
