the problem with that is that the very people who Trump wants will easily win if Tillis drops out. Tillis may agree with Trump 90% of the time but he still values free thought and has core values he apparently will not compromise on. Not running is compromising Thom and it is giving into Trump.

And I agree with you on Obama. They were both more conservative than I liked but I couldn't vote for Clinton. He was too smarmy for my taste and too bright by half. I did vote for Gore however. He seemed honorable.

Your right and it is easier than a person would think. Every thing based on Personal Liberty and Social responsibiity.
This has the advantage of being of interest to conservatives, independents and liberals and is also appealing to young people today without affilliation.
