Pottering around the house last night, I hit my target of 300k steps for the month! I’m gonna keep at it, go for at least 10k per day until the end of September. Still time to donate below, HUGE thanks to everyone who has already done so. 🙏🙏

So I’ve done 278k steps in three weeks! Way ahead of target but I’m not slowing down. Honestly feeling great for all the fresh air and exercise. It’s all in aid of Venture Scotland and you can still donate. I’m only £22 away from £1,000, which is incredible.

“The idea that humans are better than other life on earth, or separate from their environment, is honestly at the heart of everything that’s wrong with the world right now.”

@dougjohnstone.bsky.social explains what his #Enceladons trilogy is really about. Read it, beg, borrow or buy the books [1/2]

“The whole series has been a quiet tirade against human exceptionalism. The idea that humans are better than other life on earth, or separate from their environment, is honestly at the heart of everything that's wrong with the world right now. When you think of something or someone else as less than you, you can do anything you like to them. Imperialism, slavery, animal cruelty, climate change, social inequality, war - all of it stems from this idea, and it makes me sick.” Photo of Doug Johnstone’s “The Transcendent Tide” (paperback book)

Very happy with my first-week stats for my Venture Scotland steps challenge. Hopefully I can keep this up! Definitely feeling the benefit, both physically and mentally, which is the point, right? You can still donate below, thanks for everyone's support:

Started my month-long 300k step challenge for Venture Scotland with a lovely walk along Porty Beach first thing this morning. If it's like this every day I'll be laughing! (It won't be, I know that.)
